STEP 1:  Create

STEP 2:  ?????

STEP 3:  Profit!

What is Step2?

Floor64's Step2 is a community brainstorming platform for asking about, suggesting, creating, and building models for success, with help from the Insight Community. It's not just about the "business" model, but the overall "success" model. How do you create that connection with the marketplace? How do you offer something worth buying? Step2 is here to help.

If you're trying to figure out how to succeed, provide some details and ask for some insight. If you've got ideas, jump into the existing discussions. Let's all team up to help turn the Step 2 in every plan into something more than just question marks.

Help Us Add More Gear To The Techdirt Insider Shop

7 like 0 dislike

We want to keep our Insider Shop stocked with an always-expanding selection of fresh Techdirt gear. This ongoing thread is for you to help us decide what to offer next, and to submit your own ideas.

We're interested in new products, and we also want to find out if there are demands we're not meeting with our existing line. We've already received a few requests through the store, and they've been included in the list below so we can see if others want the same thing.

We've also added some ideas and draft designs for new t-shirts. The Seized Tee and DMCA Tee have been very popular so far, but we want to extend the selection. Please vote on the ideas you like, and submit your own as well.

In addition to the gear itself, we also want to know about bundles. Our limited edition Staff Bundle was a huge hit, and we're definitely planning more limited offerings in the future. We're also considering some other packages like a t-shirt bundle, but maybe there are popular combinations that we haven't thought of, so please let us know what you'd like to see.

This thread is dedicated to physical Techdirt gear, or bundles of physical gear with digital items. We'll be launching another thread soon to discuss the new blog features and subscription packages.

More eBooks?

How about some eBooks on collected Internet Etiquette -- with Do's and Don'ts along the lines of awesome projects from CK Louis to examples of the Streisand Effect....

Maybe we could publish all the funniest comments by the year...?

Make a poster out of this and sell it:

EULA

Do you wonder what those 47 pages of legal gobbledegook all mean? Has Micro$oft's EULA got you confused? Welcome to the club. I recently sat down and actually read one of those dastardly things and this is what I found:

1. You have NO rights to anything. We own it all and suffer you to use it...maybe.

2. You paid big bucks to get it, but that's all you get.

3. Tech support? We don't need no stinkin' Tech Support! We spent megabucks to install a voicemail system that is guaranteed to piss off anybody and make them go away in disgust. We don't want to hear from you...EVER.

4. Warranty - doesn't exist. What you see is what you get. If the kluge works, great. If it doesn't, tough. If the software blows up your machine and burns down your house, tough. WE AIN'T RESPONSIBLE - PERIOD.

5. If you live in a state that doesn't allow such things, have fun. We've got far more money and many more lawyers than you'll ever have. Guess who's gonna win, after you're totally broke?

6. Oh yeah. We reserve the right to shut your machine down whenever we feel like it, licensed or not. WE OWN YOU.

And an "Anti-Techdirt" option: A Paintball war between you and your staff against Mike and his staff. Get your chance to shoot Mike and his staff for all his bad posts and bad remarks! ;-)

Mike and his team will do battle against you and your team, both armed with paintball guns and the purpose is to take down all opponents. This will take about two hours and during the whole event, absolutely no TechDirt posts will be posted. Thus, you'd silence them for two hours...
