STEP 1:  Create

STEP 2:  ?????

STEP 3:  Profit!

What is Step2?

Floor64's Step2 is a community brainstorming platform for asking about, suggesting, creating, and building models for success, with help from the Insight Community. It's not just about the "business" model, but the overall "success" model. How do you create that connection with the marketplace? How do you offer something worth buying? Step2 is here to help.

If you're trying to figure out how to succeed, provide some details and ask for some insight. If you've got ideas, jump into the existing discussions. Let's all team up to help turn the Step 2 in every plan into something more than just question marks.

RUCKUS NYC - a one-day conference & concert about art & the internet

The last project I wrote about here, Ruckus Amongstus, was a variety night in January, taking place at the Exapno new music community center in Brooklyn.

The evening was a great success, and everyone asked us to do it again soon. So we thought about what we could do next that would be bigger, better, and more awesome. And that's how we came up with RUCKUS NYC.

These kinds of concerts are full of lots of different musicians, filmmakers, and performers of all kinds. So instead of just sitting around all day sound-checking, we created a one-day conference about their art, and how they've built their careers. We've brought in people from companies like Tumblr and Kickstarter to talk about how they work, and how artists can use their platforms, and we've got successful artists who will present their own expereinces and talk about what worked, what didn't, and what experiments we can all try next.

The evening show will feature a huge range of performers, as usual, but this time we're live streaming the show for our $25 and up Kickstarter backers.

We can't have a bar this time, because we're doing the show in a new Rose theater at Cooper Union. But the space, and the connection to Cooper Union's community of artists is more than enough to make up for the lack of cocktails.

We think we've built a pretty amazing event that can really help artists connect with each other, learn new skills, and get better at creating careers on the internet. We'd love it if you'd take a look at our Kickstarter, let us know what you think about what we're doing, if there's a way we can do any of this better, and what you think the next steps should be.

We'd be especially honored if you wanted to join us for a full day of panels, presentations, and amazing performances. Here's the Kickstarter campaign:

What do you think? Have we built something worthwhile?

It's okay! You can still stream the concert and get the conference sessions early on YouTube!

Plus we just opened panel topic suggestions to backers on Kickstarter. What do you think we should present?
